How Do I Correct the Ministers Shown with Our Congregation in ALEX?

Created by Dean Phelps, Modified on Thu, Jan 18 at 8:28 PM by Dean Phelps

The Yearbook page and the Congregation Directory in ALEX display the minister(s) serving a congregation. Sometimes, though, ALEX displays out of date or incorrect information. A congregation cannot change this information directly, but with a little help from our friends, ALEX can display the correct minister information.

Minister Database

The database of Disciples ministers is distinct from ALEX. The Office of Christian Vocation (OCV) at Disciples Home Missions houses and maintains the minister database. ALEX requests minister data from the OCV database nightly. The data ALEX receives with a minister includes the congregation(s) where the minister is serving. If the information is out of date or incorrect in the minister database, it will also be incorrect in ALEX.

When the information is wrong

Regional offices are responsible for reporting minister information to the Office of Christian Vocation. If ALEX is not displaying the correct minister(s) for your congregation, your first step is to contact your regional office.

Although regional offices report changes in a minister's service to the Office of Christian Vocation, ministers and congregations are responsible for keeping the regional office apprised of changes as they occur.
