How Do I Add or Remove a Congregation in ALEX?

Created by Dean Phelps, Modified on Tue, Oct 27 at 9:39 AM by Dean Phelps

The ALEX Church Directory lists the congregations of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ) with history going back to the 1980 Yearbook and Directory. Congregations with the Active status are the currently listed congregations. Active congregations participate in the General Assembly's 501(c)(3) group exemption, and they can select three voting delegates to the General Assembly.

Regions are responsible for keeping the listing of active congregations current. They do this by submitting a Congregation Change Form to the Office of the General Minister and President. The form provides documentation of the change and enables OGMP staff to add or update the church record in ALEX.

Instructions for submitting the Congregation Change Form are given in this Help Center article: Using the Congregation Change Form.
